Latest changes to the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) Scheme

On June 15th, 2018, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) published a notice to announce changes to the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) scheme as follows:

  1. Removing certain products from the CCC scheme

      From the date of this announcement, the products listed in Table 1 are no longer subject to the CCC.

  2. Allowing some other products to choose self-declaration and self-evaluation

     From October 1st, 2018, the products listed in Table 2 will have the liberty to adopt the existing certification procedures through a certification body, or choose one of the self-declaration/self-evaluation procedures. Self-declaration procedure A is applicable to IT and AV equipment with rated voltage <= 5VDC, rated wattage <= 15W (or 15VA) without rechargeable battery. Companies should prove their products’ conformity to the CCC requirements by type testing through any laboratories. Self-declaration procedure B is for specified products not covered by procedure A. Companies should prove their products’ conformity to the CCC requirements by type testing through a (CCC) designated laboratory.
